Founded in 2014, Mathkind was established to create summer travel opportunities for US teachers to support their peers in developing countries. Since then, we have grown from a small group of committed educators to a global network of researchers and local leaders collaborating year-round to transform mathematics instruction through high-quality, grassroots programs.<\/p>\n
Today, we work directly with educators and in partnership with schools that are committed to providing a high-quality education but face systemic barriers.<\/p>\n
Our professional development programs empower local teachers with evidence-based best practices. Teachers learn new strategies at our workshops and are supported by local Mathkind team members to apply them in their classrooms. Graduates of Mathkind programs develop into leaders who coach their colleagues. This learn\u2014apply\u2014lead approach articulates a clear, measurable path to generating student outcomes in critical thinking and problem-solving.<\/p>\n
The power of Mathkind\u2019s model comes from an expert network of world-renowned mathematics educators. We\u2019re an innovative nonprofit with the expertise of an established research institution. By building collaborative partnerships between expert coaches and local teachers, classrooms are transformed and student learning deepens.<\/p>\n

The moment that changes everything can arrive quietly or it can land like a sudden spark. For Dr. Chadd McGlone, it came during an ordinary conversation with his daughter about her college search. As they discussed her dreams of traveling, Chadd recalled an invitation from a colleague in math education.<\/p>\n
Not long after, Chadd and Charlotte found themselves in a remote mountain village in Guatemala, spending two weeks at an elementary school. The energy and enthusiasm of the teachers and students left a lasting impression. Chadd began to imagine how this kind of collaboration could reach other traditionally marginalized communities.<\/p>\n
Inspired to act, he consulted with nonprofit experts and founded Teachers2Teachers Global\u2014now known as Mathkind\u2014a social impact organization dedicated to transforming how math is taught and learned. Built on the belief that equitable access to quality instruction can change lives, Mathkind partners with teachers to provide evidence-based professional development.<\/p>\n
Mathkind has supported thousands of educators across the globe since that father-daughter trip. Through collaboration and shared expertise, more teachers are now equipped to empower students with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they need to succeed.<\/p>\n
