Now it’s even easier to empower teachers with research-backed math instruction. Donating cryptocurrency is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give to a nonprofit. It is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes.

We accept donations in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and over 70 leading cryptocurrencies. When you make a gift, we immediately transfer your coins to fiat. Your donation wastes no time in transforming vulnerable communities by building critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

How can I donate crypto to Mathkind?

Donating crypto is safe, easy, and fast. Using the widget on this page, making a charitable gift is a quick three-step process:

Upon making a donation, you can elect to receive an automatically generated tax receipt that will be sent to the email address you provide. This confirmation of your donation will help you close the loop when calculating your taxes.

Are crypto donations tax deductible?

The IRS classifies cryptocurrencies as property, so cryptocurrency donations to 501(c)3 charities receive the same tax treatment as stocks. When donating crypto, you receive a tax deduction for the fair market value of the crypto, and you avoid the capital gains tax you would have incurred if you had sold the crypto and then made a donation. That means you’re able to donate more, as well as deduct more on your tax return.

If I make a donation, will I receive a tax receipt?

If you provide an email, you will automatically receive a tax receipt after donating.

Can I make a donation anonymously?

Yes, and we thank you in advance! However, one thing to note is that we cannot provide personalized gift acknowledgements to anonymous donors who don’t share an email address.

Is my donation refundable?

No. We convert your donation to fiat immediately after receiving it so that it goes to work supporting our mission.
